ginius, the British-Ghanaian music producer and singer-songwriter, returns with her latest singles “Test Drive” and “Come,” both exploring themes of love and life. Known for her unique “afro blend” sound that fuses Ghanaian highlife with modern Afro-pop, R&B, and Amapiano, ginius has built a loyal fan base, the copilots, by staying true to her cultural roots and artistic vision.
“Test Drive,” produced with long-time collaborator Joker Nharnah, is an Afro R&B track that captures the essence of a lover’s transformation from a stranger to someone essential. The song’s sultry guitar riff and blend of R&B and Afro-Dancehall elements make it the perfect lover girl anthem. In contrast, “Come,” a self-produced track, delves into the pain of heartbreak and the hope of new beginnings, set against a soft electric piano-driven Afro R&B backdrop.
These releases follow ginus’ previous singles “Different” and “Not My Concern,” all part of an upcoming project that chronicles the highs and lows of love. With catalogues amassing over 1 million streams and performances in both Ghana and the UK, ginius continues to shine in her unique way.
The combo release, “Test Drive” and “Come” are now available on all digital platforms.
