Almost all the songs in Ghana that swims in the pool of controversy are somewhat sexually suggestive or have some political connotations but Nkasei’s “Tuobodom” is not.
The song is a brief narrative of students on a travel mission from Tuobodom to Kumasi for an exchange programme and the “bizarre” discoveries thereafter.
Unfortunately song was perceived to malign the people of Brong Ahafo and had Chiefs and other opinion leaders coming at the duo, but for the hiplife audience, it was a classic to relish on.
Nkasei is a group of two (2), consisting of Shy and Naa Kay. They met at a rap festival at Nima in 1995 and realizing the potentials in each other, they got together as a group.
“Tuobodom” is still Ghana’s most controversial song till now, and another Appietus produced evergreen masterpiece.
